The Beauty of Seasonal Art

The Beauty Of Seasonal Art

Of course you want to celebrate the seasons.  They give meaning to your life, just as they did through childhood when you looked forward to the Fourth of July parades and the lead to Christmas that the Advent season brings.  So, what better way to celebrate the beauty of seasonal art than by utilizing it in your home or office.  It is the very essence of beauty, because the seasons are fleeting and we try to hang onto them as best we can, just as we try to prolong beauty because we must.  It seems to be a matter of control.  We want to show each facet of life to our children and this is an added reason to decorate our homes with seasonal art.  We want our children to have the same sense of joy that we had in our youth.

With the beauty of seasonal art in our minds, we search for décor that enhances the season’s attractions, whatever they are.  How about a painting of a spring hillside, alive with new flowers and varying shades of greenery, green with shades of yellow for the upspringing weeds and green with tones of gray for the bushes that dot the hillside.  You never knew there were so many shades of green!  Or how about the splendor of the summer, with its riotous ripened fruits, deep purple figs, fuzzy peaches and small tart kumquats?  Wouldn’t they make a gorgeous still life?  Cold weather holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas have a tradition of hearty rich colors such as bronze, gold and maroon.  A work based on these colors would surely have the effect of burnishing your holiday spirit to a bright glow.  For the more tranquil times, a soothing seascape will never fail to smooth any uneven patches in your life as it guides your spirit into calmer waters.  For a more sedate, relaxing season, think of the late summer when the kids are not yet back into school, vacation is over with, and you are enjoying your backyard in peace and quiet.  Surely that is a season in itself, of quieter times.

Now that you’ve decided to decorate with seasonal art, where should you go to obtain some?  A reputable local artist is all well and good because you will not have to arrange shipping, but an online  piece that you are eyeing will fit into the lifestyle that you enjoy in your home, thanks to the ‘see it yourself’ online feature that displays your chosen painting in a décor that matches your own décor the best. You will be amazed at how decision-making is eased by this feature, and by how accommodating the artist is as he helps you decide.  If you commission a painting, that’s even better!  Then you may precisely choose the color scheme and subject for a favorite season.  The painting may well become the centerpiece of your art collection and a favorite of your family and friends for years.
